Public Service Core Policy

Community Service

Fostering civic responsibility, empowering youth volunteers, and taking practical action for the betterment of Seychelles.

Overview

Why Service Matters

A nation's strength is measured by how its citizens care for one another and their environment.

Community service is the ultimate expression of civic duty. It bridges divides, supports the vulnerable, and transforms rhetoric into tangible results. When young people engage in service, they develop empathy, build practical leadership skills, and recognize their own power to enact change.

The Office’s Position is clear: Volunteering should be a cornerstone of youth development. We advocate for organized community action—from coastal clean-ups to food support initiatives—and believe that fostering a culture of giving back is essential to our national progress.

The Vision

"We envision a Seychelles where youth lead the charge in community care—where environmental stewardship, supporting the vulnerable, and civic duty are deeply ingrained in our national identity."
